- Where is your hometown?
Well, my hometown is Da Nang city, which is on the central coast of Vietnam. In my opinion, it is an ideal city to live in thanks to its unique culinary culture with beautiful natural landscapes.
- What do you like about your hometown?
To be honest, I would say that I like everything of my hometown. But what I like the most maybe its privilege in natural landscapes. I mean, my city is especially well-known for having incredible sceneries, with fine sandy beaches to the east and green chilling forests to the west.
- What do you not like about it?
Frankly speaking, I am not into the slow pace of life in my city. For a young, dynamic, and active person like me, my hometown is not an ideal place to expand my horizons or find a better job opportunity. That’s why I moved to Ho Chi Minh city for work. However, I still think Da Nang is a perfect place for vacationers who only plan to visit for a few days.
- How important is your hometown to you?
My hometown is the best place where I can walk and breathe fresh air, because there is no pollution at all. Furthermore, I can visit the paddy fields at any time, which makes me feel at peace and refreshes my mind.
- Do you think you will continue to live in your hometown?
Honestly, I am not planning to develop my career here in Da Nang. After graduation, I will definitely relocate and search for a job in a different city because there aren’t much job opportunities here in my hometown.

Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking topic Hometown Part 2
Dưới đây là một ví dụ về bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 2 chủ đề Hometown. Mời bạn đọc tham khảo.
Describe a change that can improve your local area/hometown
You should say:
- What it is
- How it can be made
- What problem it will bring
And how you feel about it
One change that can improve my local area is to include lessons about road safety(1) in the school curriculum.
First, let me explain the problem in my hometown. I’m currently living in Ho Chi Minh city, which is the biggest city of Vietnam, and there is heavy traffic in the city. The problem is that many people commuting(2) around the city do not obey traffic laws(3). It isn’t uncommon to see people running the red light(4) or driving when being under the influence(5). This recklessness(6) leads to many traffic accidents in the city with a lot of people losing their lives.
Even worse, many parents instill in their children this carelessness. I once saw a Mom let her son climb over the barriers to cross the street or some parents just let their kids play and run along the sidewalk. Therefore, I think it is necessary to include lessons about road safety as a compulsory (7) part of school curriculums(8). To avoid putting too much pressure on students, we don’t have to teach them the whole traffic law system, only some basic road rules and pedestrian safety like waiting for the red light to cross the streets. This will not only reduce the risk of children being harmed by vehicles but also raise their awareness of road safety, making them realize that their parents’ behavior could put other people’s lives in danger, and therefore when they grow up, they are more likely to follow traffic laws.
Từ vựng
- Commute: Di chuyển ở các tuyến đường cố định (từ nhà đến trường/nơi làm việc)
- Road safety: An toàn giao thông
- Traffic laws: Luật giao thông
- Red light: Đèn đỏ
- Being under the Influence: Không tự chủ
- Drive when being under the influence: Lái xe không tự chủ
- Recklessness: Sự bất cẩn:
- Instill: Truyền đạt, truyền tải
- Compulsory: Bắt buộc
- School curriculums: Chương trình học
- Pedestrian: người đi bộ

Without a doubt. HCMC is developing really fast but at the same time, it is gradually becoming a concrete jungle(4). I mean more and more skyscrapers(5) are being built and there is less green in this city. Unfortunately, it’s a negative side.
- Is there good scenery in your hometown?
There are a lot of beautiful views in Ho Chi Minh city, but my favorite one is the breathtaking (1) view of the whole city from the observation sky desk on the 49th floor of Bitexco Tower. From this skydeck, we can enjoy the panoramic (2) view of Ho Chi Minh city.
- Do you consider living in the countryside in the future?

- Do you want to move to another place to live?
Yes, I do. I am always looking for new and exciting opportunities, and I believe that moving to another place to live would be a great way to experience new cultures, meet new people, and learn new things. I am also open to the challenges that come with moving to a new place, such as adapting to a new culture and making new friends.
